Vietnam, 25–30 June 2025 — A research and collaboration visit to Vietnam was successfully conducted by a team led by Dr. Febri Doni (Universitas Padjadjaran & Cornell University) and Dr. Mia Miranti (Universitas Padjadjaran). This international visit marked a strategic step in expanding partnerships in the fields of System of Rice Intensification (SRI), carbon trading, and agroecology—areas central to sustainable agricultural development.

During the six-day trip, the delegation visited several prestigious institutions in Vietnam, including Dong Du University, the National Economics University, and the Vietnam Science Institute of Rural Development. The visit included meetings, knowledge exchange sessions, and exploratory talks for joint research opportunities.
Joining the academic delegation were Unpad Master’s students Thomas Argyarich Jefferson and Rosamond Chan, who actively participated in discussions and site visits. The team was also accompanied by Anggita Rahmi Hafsari (UIN Sunan Gunung Djati / University of Malaya), reflecting the collaborative spirit among Southeast Asian scholars.

The team had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with several renowned Vietnamese scientists, including Prof. Pham Thi My Dung, Prof. Le Dinh Chinh, and Prof. Nam Hoang Nguyen, who shared insights on Vietnam’s agricultural challenges and innovations, especially related to sustainable practices and rural development.

This international visit highlights the growing global engagement of Universitas Padjadjaran, especially in addressing environmental and agricultural issues through science and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Department of Biology is proud to support these initiatives that not only enrich academic partnerships but also contribute to real-world solutions in the region.
