Dalam artikelnya, ia mengulas ancaman serius penyakit seperti <em>rice blast<\/em>, <em>sheath blight<\/em>, <em>brown spot<\/em>, hingga <em>bacterial blight<\/em> yang dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil panen secara signifikan serta berdampak pada ketahanan pangan global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artikel ini menekankan bahwa ketergantungan pada fungisida dan bakterisida kimia memang memberikan efek cepat, namun dalam jangka panjang menimbulkan berbagai masalah seperti resistensi patogen, degradasi lingkungan, serta risiko kesehatan bagi petani. Sebagai alternatif, PGPF ditawarkan sebagai solusi ramah lingkungan karena mampu bekerja melalui berbagai mekanisme biologis, antara lain mycoparasitism (serangan langsung terhadap patogen), antibiosis (produksi senyawa antimikroba), serta <em>induced systemic resistance<\/em> (ISR) yang mengaktifkan sistem pertahanan tanaman secara menyeluruh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selain berperan dalam pengendalian penyakit, PGPF juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman, efisiensi penyerapan nutrisi, serta ketahanan terhadap stres biotik dan abiotik. Artikel ini juga membahas tantangan implementasi di lapangan, termasuk konsistensi efektivitas di berbagai kondisi agroekosistem, pengembangan formulasi <em>biofertilizer<\/em> yang stabil, hingga aspek komersialisasi dan regulasi produk hayati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keberhasilan Thomas sebagai mahasiswa magister yang mampu memimpin publikasi di jurnal internasional bereputasi menunjukkan kapasitas riset dan daya saing global mahasiswa Biologi Unpad dalam bidang interaksi tanaman\u2013mikroba dan pengendalian hayati.
