Praktikum ini dilakukan pada hari Rabu 4 Mei 2025 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Terapan, Gedung Pascasarjana D6 Unpad. Dalam Praktikum Mikrobiologi Dasar ini, para praktikan terbagi menjadi dua sesi, yaitu sesi 1 di pagi hari dan sesi 2 di siang hari. Praktikum koefisien fenol ini bertujuan untuk memberikan praktik dan pengarahan kepada mahasiswa agar mampu melakukan metoda koefisien fenol untuk membandingkan aktivitas kimia anti mikroba dari komponen-komponen kimia dengan fenol sebagai standar uji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sebelum melakukan praktikum, para praktikan diwajibkan untuk memakai perlengkapan laboratorium seperti jas lab dan masker. Hal ini diperlukan untuk menjaga keamanan dan keselamatan di laboratorium yang umumnya melakukan pengujian dengan  menggunakan alat dan bahan yang berbahaya. Selanjutnya para praktikan menyimak responsi yang diberikan oleh Dosen Pengampu, <strong>Prof. Dr. Ratu Safitri, MS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selanjutnya praktikan berkumpul dengan kelompok dan asisten laboratoriumnya masing-masing. Para praktikan wajib mengumpulkan logbook yang sudah mereka buat sebelumnya dan mengisi pre-test. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam praktikum ini dilakukan pengenceran sehingga praktikan harus memastikan perbandingan dalam pengencerannya sudah sesuai. Selain itu, praktikan harus memasukan bakteri uji ke dalam larutan fenol atau desinfektan hasil pengenceran dan didiamkan dengan interval waktu 5, 10, dan 15 menit. Hasil yang didapatkan akan dijadikan laporan praktikum yang harus mereka kerjakan dan kumpulkan kepada asisten laboratorium masing-masing untuk dinilai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dengan berakhirnya kegiatan praktikum &#8220;Koefisien Fenol&#8221; ini, diharapkan mahasiswa Biologi Unpad mampu memahami secara aplikatif prinsip kerja disinfektan serta metode penentuan efektivitasnya melalui perhitungan koefisien fenol. Praktikum ini tidak hanya melatih keterampilan teknis mahasiswa dalam bekerja di laboratorium mikrobiologi, tetapi juga memperkuat pemahaman teoritis yang telah mereka pelajari di kelas.
