
A group of Master’s students from the Department of Biology, Universitas Padjadjaran—Dedat Prismantoro, Thomas Argyarich Jefferson, and Muhammad Adil Awal—conducted a comprehensive research attachment and visit at the Institute of Biological Sciences and the Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR), University of Malaya (UM), from 12 to 25 February 2025.
These students, whose theses are supervised by Dr. Febri Doni, visited UM to analyze bioinformatics data and present their research. They are also jointly co-supervised in their master’s program by Associate Prof. Dr. Muhamad Shakirin Mispan, Dr. Nurul Shamsinah Mohd Suhaimi, and Dr. Chua Kah Ooi (UM), as well as Dr. Pedro Gonçalves from the Technical Research Centre of Finland.
As part of their visit, the students also engaged with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Abd Al-Qadr Imad Wan Mohtar’s Functional Omics and Bioprocess Development Lab, where they participated in discussions and learning sessions on mycobioremediation.
Beyond research activities, they also took part in a farmer consultation workshop organized by the Malaysian Agroecology Society, held in Sawah Ring, Johor, Malaysia, which further broadening their academic and practical experiences.
